Brexit, 'stepping up' and tributes: what went down at the BRIT Awards
The BRIT awards were spectacular. Hosted by comedian Jack Whitehall, the show highlighted the best releases from British artists in the past year.
Stormzy stormed the stage, winning two awards. The rapper picked up the gongs for British Male and British Album of the Year for 'Gang Signs and Prayer' beating competition from Ed Sheeran, Liam Gallagher and Rag N Bone Man. The rapper also closed off the show with an epic performance of his hits 'Blinded By Your Grace' and 'Big For Your Boots' - even adding a freestyle that criticised Prime Minister Theresa May.
Also picking up two awards last night was Dua Lipa, the popstar won British Female and British Breakthrough. She also performed her number 1 single 'New Rules'.

Adding to the winners' list, Gorillaz won British Group, with the group's founder, Damon Albarn, giving a politically charged speech about Brexit - perhaps one of the most notable moments of the night.
Ed Sheeran won the prestigious Global Success award, highlighting the massive success he has had over the past year. He also performed a tear-jerking rendition of the ballad 'Supermarket Flowers'.
Ellie Goulding seemed to throw some shade at Recording Academy CEO Neil Portnow who had suggested that women were not 'stepping up' after a lack of female artists won at the Grammy Awards last month.
And an awkward moment occurred between Cheryl and her boyfriend, former One Direction member Liam Payne, in which Cheryl cheekily joked about their sex life.
Liam Gallagher also paid tribute to the victims of the Manchester Arena bombing last year, with a performance of the Oasis hit 'Live Forever'. Ariana Grande was due to join him on stage, but had to pull out.
Meanwhile, women rocked the red carpet whilst holding white roses in support of the #MeToo movement, which sees women speak out against sexual assault and harassment after sexual allegations arose against Harvey Weinstein.
