First woman becomes Vice President for male dominated college

Brunel spring elections fell on International Women’s Day this year and not only did we have more women elected this year than ever before, but Peri Sherif made history last night becoming the first ever female vice president of a male dominated college at Brunel.

Peri won the vote unanimously to become Vice President of CEDPS (College of Engineering, Design and Physical Sciences).

As Vice President of CEDPS Peri states that her main aims are to encourage more women in STEM (Science, technology, engineering and mathematics) subjects. We caught up with Peri after the vote and heard what she had to say.
