Police reissue appeal for missing Brunel maintenance man Roy Morris

Concern is growing for the welfare of a Brunel maintenance man who has been missing for three weeks.

Roy Morris, 60, disappeared on Sunday May 26 and has not been seen since, despite repeated appeals from his family, the police and the university.

Yesterday, police renewed their plea to the public on the three-week anniversary of his mystery disappearance.

Meanwhile, Brunel staff and students have been put on alert with posters throughout campus, and an appeal on the university website.

“I wanted to let you know that Roy Morris, a member of the Maintenance team, has sadly been reported as missing from home. We are doing all we can to help the police in their search for Roy. His family has asked us to share their notice,” said Brunel’s HR Deputy Director Gemma Bailey.

Her statement added: “Our thoughts are with Roy, his family, friends and work colleagues during this difficult time.”

Roy is described as ‘vulnerable’ and his case has gained wide support from the community. Bucks actor Robert Lindsay has tweeted his support for the disappearance. “The whole community is with you,” the My Family star tweeted.

As well as support from Robert Lindsay, football club Wycombe Wanderers have also tweeted their support in the matter.

Police urged “members of the public to check any dashcam, helmet, mobile phone or CCTV footage they have in and around the village on Sunday 26 May” in the appeal yesterday.

Roy was last seen wearing camo shorts and a black t-shirt with a distinctive walk and head thrust. He is 6ft tall with green/brown eyes and a shaved head.

Roy is said to frequent the River Misbourne walk, White Hart Pub, Chalfont, The Plough at Casden, Gerrards Cross and local rural areas, for those who also frequent these locations to keep an eye out. He was last seen leaving his address in Grove Hill, Chalfont St Peter, Bucks and has not been seen since then.
