London’s Best Kept Secret: Top Secret Comedy Club Delivers A Hilarious Night Out
Top Secret Comedy Club boasts an intimate venue with regularly drop-ins from celebrity comics – perfect for a night on the town.
Monday night’s “Work In Progress” show consists of comics – both newcomers and veterans – testing out new material as they prepare for upcoming festivals and gigs.
The packed venue, located in the heart of London’s West End, promises to offer a night full of laughs for less than a tenner.
Mark Rothman, Founder of Top Secret Comedy Club, is the resident MC at the venue. He welcomed attendees to the venue and warmed up the audience for the acts to come.
After a lively – if overly inappropriate – introduction, Mark Rothman invited Maureen Younger to the stage. Maureen’s set was the weakest of the night, relying too heavily on sexual innuendos and cheap laughs.
However, Ola The Comedian brought the audience back in good spirits, with jokes about his relationship with his wife, and the ups and downs of married life.
Following him Dan Antopolski, award winning comedian and comic actor, amused the audience with a story of how his girlfriend accused Dan of cheating on her in her dream.
Seemingly out of nowhere, Seann Walsh – established celebrity comedian – surprised the audience with a hysterically funny, if unexpected, routine on everything from the sorrows of growing into your 30s, to going out drinking with Boris Johnson.
When talking about the Top Secret Comedy Club, Seann Walsh has previously said: “Without a doubt my favourite London club. It’s my home.”
Despite Seann Walsh being a tough act to follow, teacher Jamie Oliphant performed a humorous set on the antics of working with children at school.
To finish the night off, Jay Handley entertained the audience by making fun of his Jesus-like appearance.
Top Secret Comedy Club’s “Work In Progress” show offered a strong line-up of comics, alongside a greatly welcomed celebrity guest surprise. An absolute must for those looking for a great night out and an even better laugh.
