There was chaos at the Brunel University Athletic Centre as the counting of votes of the Hillingdon constituencies was under way.
As returning officer Lloyd White announced the victory of Labour party’s John McDonnell in the Hayes and Harlington constituency, some in the crowd cheered while others caused a kerfuffle.
Mr McDonnell's victory speech was disrupted by some people in the crowd who were hurling abuse at the MP. Members of the university security team were called, and two people were escorted from the building.
Mr McDonnell was saying that it was not the Labour party’s policies that led to their defeat when at least two people began shouting from the crowd.
